The Thirteenth Infrared and Raman User’s Group (IRUG 13) conference will be held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, December 5-7, 2018.

The conference will include oral and poster presentations addressing all aspects of the application of infrared and Raman spectroscopies to the study of cultural artefacts and their preservation, as well as applications in forensic science.

The program comprises a 3-day conference with lectures & poster sessions with pitches on aspects of the application of IR & Raman spectroscopies to the study of cultural artifacts & their preservation. One afternoon of excursions to local scientific & artistic sites with exclusive access for conference delegates. Approximately 30 peer reviewed papers and 20 posters.
Keynote speaker: Dr. Narayan Khandekar, Director Straus Center for Conservation, Harvard University, will speak on ‘Materials and techniques of traditional Aboriginal bark paintings.
